About Us

Singapore Tales was born in 2018 out of a passion for storytelling and a deep appreciation for Singapore’s diverse culture. Our founder, a writer and cultural historian, recognized the potential for creative writing to preserve and celebrate the city-state’s traditions. The course was initially developed as a series of workshops designed to teach aspiring writers how to weave Singapore’s heritage into their narratives.

These early workshops explored the stories of Singapore’s kampongs, bustling markets, and iconic landmarks, providing a foundation for participants to build their creative worlds. By 2020, we had expanded to include online classes, making it possible for students worldwide to learn about Singapore’s culture and use it as a backdrop for their stories.

Today, Singapore Tales combines storytelling techniques with cultural exploration, empowering students to create narratives that resonate with authenticity and creativity. From folklore and legends to contemporary experiences, our courses offer a unique perspective on the art of writing.
